Huntley High selected to perform at Illinois High School Theatre Festival

Huntley High School is one of 11 high schools in the state selected to perform a full-length production at the upcoming Illinois High School Theatre Festival.

The festival will be held at Illinois State University from Thursday to Saturday, Jan. 11-13.

The school will perform "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)."

Now in its 43rd consecutive year, it is the largest and oldest non-competitive high school theater festival in the world.

To be selected, a school must submit a performance for review by theater educators and hold a discussion period with the reviewers, who then submit a written critique/recommendation to a selection committee which makes the final selections.

In addition to the performances, participants in the festival have the opportunity to attend several workshops, watch professional guest productions, experience an All-State production by the top student performers in the state, and connect with numerous college and university theater programs.
