They look alike, they sound alike and their voices blend beautifully, but Will and Anthony Nunziata each have unique talents. The identical twins will share their gifts for the third time at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights when they present “With Love from Broadway” on Jan. 27.

Anthony, who books their shows, is the songwriter of the duo. Will, who is a theater director, takes the creative lead in planning the concert and the set list.

Their show will feature love songs from Broadway, classic standards from the Great American Songbook and original songs written by Anthony, plus entertaining interplay between the brothers. The pair will be accompanied by their music director Eugene Gwozdz.

The brothers are in their early 30s but are drawn to music from an older era. “My soul’s 108,” Will declared.

The two work well together because, “Collaboration is in our DNA,” Anthony said. He reported that, according to their mother, they have performed together “since the womb.” Their audience increased when they were 18.

“We were on our way to try out for the tennis team at Boston College,” Anthony related. “On the way, we saw an audition notice for the musical ‘Godspell.’ We auditioned. We were cast. I got Jesus. Will got Judas. From that moment on, we realized we had a shared love of performing.”

They decided to create their own show. Anthony began booking the duo at events, the most thrilling being two sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Symphony Orchestra last year.

“Headlining for two sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall is most anyone’s dream as an entertainer,” Will said. “But to do it so young and also to have my parents and sister and family and friends in the audience was a dream come true.”

Over the past five years, they have performed over 300 concerts around the world. That includes appearances with the Detroit Symphony, Cleveland Pops, Colorado Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, Toledo Symphony and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, among others.

In 2018, the pair will be featured in the Netflix comedy, “The Last Laugh,” which stars Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfuss.

Anthony said he enjoys performing with his brother because they are able “to make people happy and to connect with people. The fact that Will and I are onstage automatically makes people think about family. There’s a comfort to that.”

“I enjoy that we’re both very different,” Will said. “But, at the same time, because we’ve been performing together for so long — and we essentially came from the same egg, a lot of our instincts are very similar.”

The Nunziata brothers are looking forward to their third concert at Metropolis. Anthony declared, “It feels like home.”

“It’s always a fun time,” Will agreed. “We’re trained in improv comedy. We love to keep it fresh and fun and light, but are also proud of the more intimate, dramatic moments of our show.”
