Full list of Trump’s reciprocal tariffs by country announced on Liberation Day
The president announced global 10% tariff along with a specific amounts to be applied to certain countries depending on their tariffs and “other forms of cheating”

Donald Trump announced his new approach to tariffs during a speech at the White House, on what he has called Liberation Day for America.
Under the new regime the US will charge tariffs of 10% on all goods brought into the country, no matter where they come from, with the measure going into effect just past midnight on April 5.
Trump also announced that some 60 countries around the world will be charged what Trump is calling a reciprocal tariff. These higher tariffs will apply to those countries that Trump and his administration argue treat the United States unfairly.
Canada and Mexico are the only two counties exempt from these measures at the moment, with the 10% standard tariff kicking in when the original 25% tariffs Trump applied to Canadian and Mexican goods are terminated or suspended.
How Trump’s reciprocal tariffs are calculated
For the higher tariffs, Trump’s team have calculated what they consider to be the overall tariff rate charged by other countries, based on all tariffs on all goods, plus “other forms of cheating”, which includes currency manipulation and other barriers to markets.
The US will then charge half of that tariff on all goods from that country being brought in to the US. These reciprocal tariffs go into effect on April 9. Note that the amount charged includes the 10% baseline, plus whatever is needed to take the amount up to the reciprocal tariff.
Under their calculations, China has an overall 67% tariff, meaning the US, from midnight, will charge a minimum 34% tariff on Chinese goods. (Being the 10% baseline, plus a further 24%.)
The EU, according to Trump, levies an overall equivalent 39% tariff on US goods, meaning the US will charge a 20% tariff.
Japan’s goods are to face a 24% rate and India a 26% rate.
It’s important to note that this new tariff is in addition to any existing tariffs that Trump has announced. That means Chinese goods will face the 34% reciprocal tariff on top of the standard 20% Trump has already announced, or on top of the 25% tariff on autos or metals.
The Trump administration has calculated the UK applies an overall tariff of 10%, meaning UK goods will only face the baseline tariff of 10%.
The countries facing the highest 50% rates are the African country of Lesotho and the self-governing French territory of Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

Why are there no tariffs on Russia?
A White House official confirmed to the New York Times after Trump’s announcement, that Russia, along with Cuba, Belarus and North Korea, are not subject to the new tariff regime, because, “they are already facing extremely high tariffs and our previously imposed sanctions preclude any meaningful trade with these countries.”
