Updated: People who accused Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct (so far)

Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey is another powerful man in a long list of men who are facing sexual assault, sexual harassment or rape allegations. As the list grows for men like Harvey Weinstein, this is who has come forward to say #MeToo with experiences of (alleged) sexual assault or misconduct involving the House of Cards actor.

Anthony Rapp

Anthony Rapp, the actor from Star Trek: Discovery and the Broadway musical Rent, accused Kevin Spacey in an interview with BuzzFeed of making sexual advances when Rapp was a minor.

Rapp said Spacey befriended him in 1986 when the two were performing on Broadway. “[Spacey] invited Rapp over to his apartment for a party, and, at the end of the night, picked Rapp up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance,” according to BuzzFeed.

Rapp, now 46, said he hasn’t spoken to Spacey, but seeing him now makes his “stomach churn.”

“My stomach churns,” Rapp said. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.”

“It was this thing that happened, and I locked it away,” he added.

Harry Dreyfuss

The son of actor Richard Dreyfuss, Harry Dreyfuss, recently alleged in an article he penned for BuzzFeed that Kevin Spacey groped him — a claim Spacey’s camp denies.

In 2008, Spacey was directing Richard Dreyfuss in a play. Harry Dreyfuss, an 18-year-old in for Christmas break, was in Spacey’s apartment with his father while the actors rehearsed lines.

After a few seemingly innocuous encounters on other occasions, like hand holding, Spacey allegedly put his hand on Harry Dreyfuss’ thigh. The teen moved his seat multiple times, he said, but Spacey followed him each time.

Harry Dreyfuss moved his seat again and covered his thighs with his own hands, but wrote that Spacey “snuck in” his hand. Fearing he would ruin the relationship between his father and his director and jeopardize the play, Harry said nothing.

Harry Dreyfuss wrote: “I didn’t want the play to be threatened. This job really mattered to my dad, and Kevin was his boss. And besides, I thought, He isn’t really doing anything wrong…

“And then he did. Over the course of about 20 seconds, centimeter by centimeter, Kevin crawled his hand from my thigh over toward my crotch. My mind went blank. Suddenly, he had completed his journey and now he had all of me in his hand. I stopped reading the script and my eyes went wide. I lifted up my head and faced him. Looking into his eyes, I gave the most meager shake of my head that I could manage. I was trying to warn him without alerting my dad, who still had his eyes glued to the page. I thought I was protecting everyone. I was protecting my dad’s career. I was protecting Kevin, who my dad surely would have tried to punch. I was protecting myself, because I thought one day I’d want to work with this man. Kevin had no reaction and kept his hand there. My eyes went back to the script and I kept reading.”

Tony Montana

Filmmaker Tony Montana told RadarOnline that Kevin Spacey grabbed his crotch in a pub in 2003.

“I went up to order a drink and Kevin came up to me and put his arm around me,” Montana told Radar. “He was telling me to come with him, to leave the bar. He put his hand on my crotch forcefully and grabbed my whole package.”

Montana, who was in his 30s at the time, said the 58-year-old actor told him, “This designates ownership.”

“I put my hand down and turned his thumb back to get his hand off it,” Montana said. “I paid for my drink and got away from him.”

According to Montana, Spacey followed him to the restroom.

“I backed him out the door and I pushed him,” he said. “One of his friends was in line and I said, ‘It’s time to take your boy home.’ They all ended up leaving.’”

Former production assistant on House of Cards, plus seven other former and current crew members

A former production assistant told CNN that Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted him during House of Card’s infancy. The PA, tasked with picking Spacey up and driving him to the House of Cards set, said Spacey put his hands down the assistant’s pants while he was driving.

“I was in a state of shock,” he said. “He was a man in a very powerful position on the show and I was someone very low on the totem pole and on the food chain there.”

Once on set, the advances continued in Spacey’s trailer, the former PA told CNN. When he told Spacey he was uncomfortable, he said Spacey became “visibly flustered” and left the set for the rest of the day.

According to CNN, eight people from the House of Cards set have accused Spacey of “predatory” behavior saying the actor playing Frank Underwood often made non-consensual contact and offensive remarks, mostly to young men.

“I have no doubt that this type of predatory behavior was routine for him and that my experience was one of many and that Kevin had few if any qualms about exploiting his status and position,” the former PA said. “It was a toxic environment for young men who had to interact with him at all in the crew, cast, background actors.”

A former House of Cards camera assistant said he witnessed the behavior, and out in the open “everybody saw” Spacey inappropriately touching a crew member.

“All the crew members commented on his behavior,” the former camera assistant told CNN. “What gets me is we have to sign sexual harassment paperwork before the start of the show and apparently [Kevin Spacey] doesn’t have to do anything and he gets away scott-free with this behavior.”

(CNN confirmed that Spacey received the same sexual harassment paperwork as everyone else.)

The camera assistant said crew members feared they would lose their jobs if they spoke out.

“Who is going to believe crew members?” he said. “You’re going to get fired.”

Daniel Beal

British bartender Daniel Beal told The Sun that a visibly drunk Kevin Spacey flashed him in 2010 and then bribed him with an expensive watch.

Beal, who was 19 at the time, said Spacey repeatedly touched his hands when he served drinks. While on a smoke break, Beal said Spacey approached him.

“Before I had a chance to do anything he got his d—k out. I said ‘What the f—k are you doing?’ He said: ‘It’s big isn’t it?'”

Beal said the actor then insisted he trade his Portofino watch (worth roughly $6,500) for Beal’s $26 Casio. Beal said he sold the watch before Spacey’s people started contacting him to get the watch back.

Roberto Cavazos

Actor Roberto Cavazos said he had his own Kevin Spacey experience while Spacey was the artistic director at The Old Vic Theatre, the same theater that put on Complicit, with Richard Dreyfuss.

“I myself had a couple of unpleasant encounters with Spacey that were on the edge of being considered assault,” the 35-year-old actor wrote in Spanish on his Facebook page. “In fact, if I was a woman, I probably wouldn’t have doubted in identifying them as such, but I guess the lack of a direct or aggressive action led me to justify the incident as ‘one of those things.’”

“There are many of us who have a ‘Kevin Spacey story,’” Cavazos continued. “It seems like you only needed to be a man under 30 for him to feel free to touch us. It was so common that it turned into a (very bad) joke amongst us.”

“John”

A man who asked to remain anonymous told the BBC that he met the Usual Suspects and American Beauty actor during summer theater when he was 16 and Spacey invited him to visit his apartment in New York City.

Spacey asked John to share his bed, but John said he refused. An “icy ‘goodnight’” was followed by the sounds of Spacey sobbing from his bedroom, a move John told the BBC “was attention-seeking behavior in an attempt to get him to respond.”

The next morning, John said he woke up with Spacey on top of him, with his head resting on his stomach.

“He was in his underwear, I was fully clothed. I supposed it was some sort of New York theater actor ‘good morning,'” he said.

Later that day, when Spacey allegedly made an unwanted advance on John, John said he burst into tears and Spacey backed off.

“He was either very stupid or predatory — or maybe a little of both,” John said.

According to John, no alcohol was involved.

Anonymous journalist

A journalist, who wishes to remain anonymous due to his job, told BuzzFeed that he interviewed Kevin Spacey at London’s Old Vic in the early 2000s. Spacey invited the 20-something to a club to continue the interview and the journalist alleges Spacey was “aggressively groping him” while his friends “were deliberately not paying attention.”

“He just kept reaching between my legs and, you know, just grabbing my d—k,” he said. “I would move his hand away, and say something that I thought was pretending was funny or whatever at first. And then I was starting to get annoyed by it, and that was pretty clear.”

Despite telling Spacey that he was in a “serious, live-in relationship with a woman,” the journalist said it didn’t deter the unwanted groping.

“I got up to leave at one point, and [Spacey] sort of grabbed me, and tried to make me stay,” he continued. “I ended up sitting back down. He kept rubbing my leg. I moved seats. He came over and sat next to me again. I was trying not to make a big scene, because I had an assignment to write about him. So it wasn’t clear to me that I should just, like, knock his teeth out, or something. I was in a weird dynamic of I wanted to be able to do my story.”

When the journalist finally made his exit, “[Spacey] came out after me and literally stood between me and the door. This man was screaming in my face outside of the main bar area, red-faced, spit flying out of his mouth, screaming at me with fury because I didn’t want to f—k him. He was actually saying that I did want to and I was a coward. That was his tactic. It was unbelievable.”

The journalist didn’t write about the incident because it would have outed Spacey.

“I consider that a pretty important principle: You don’t out people,” he said. “But it tied my hands. If I were to publish a story about Kevin Spacey sexually harassing me on the job … there’s no way without making it quite clear that he likes guys.”

The son of journalist Heather Unruh

Heather Unruh accused Kevin Spacey of assaulting her 18-year-old son under a bar table in 2016 after he plied him with alcohol. A tearful Unruh appeared on CNN to recount the tale and said Spacey put his hand between her son’s legs. Unruh added that a woman, who presumably saw something occur that wasn’t right, asked her shaken son if he was OK after Spacey got up to use the bathroom.

Young journalist

Kevin Spacey allegedly propositioned a young male journalist, who also wishes to remain anonymous, during a party at 2013’s Edinburgh TV Festival.

“Kevin was to give a lecture,” an insider told The Sun. “His appearance on stage was a triumph. But word quickly got ’round about how he made an advance towards a young, straight writer but was told where to go in no uncertain terms.”

Anonymous artist

An artist, now 48, alleges he had a “sexual relationship” with Kevin Spacey that started when he was 14 and ended a decade later after an attempted rape.

“I have worked really hard to have a nice life and feel safe, and I’m not giving that up for him,” he explained to Vulture, regarding his desire for anonymity. “I don’t want them to be able to find their way back to me.”

23-year-old actor in London

A 23-year-old actor went to the police in London claiming he woke up in Kevin Spacey’s place in 2008 with Spacey performing oral sex on him.

The actor, now 32, had asked Spacey, then the artistic director at Old Vic between 2004 and 2015, to help with his career. The two smoked weed and the young actor said he passed out.

Upon waking to fellatio, the young actor said he told Spacey to stop. As the young actor ran from the house, Spacey allegedly said, “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

Justin Dawes

Justin Dawes told BuzzFeed that when he was 16 in 1988, Kevin Spacey, then relatively unknown, invited him and a friend over to watch Roman Polanski’s Chinatown.

Instead, Dawes said, the K-PAX actor made them cocktails and played gay porn.

“We all had a drink, and we were kind of like, ‘Oh, no one else is coming?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, no one else decided to come,’ and he never mentioned that this porn was playing. It was really awkward,” Dawes told BuzzFeed.

“He knew that I was in high school,” he said. “It was pretty clear. It’s not like I was pretending to be an older, cooler person.”

Mark Ebenhoch

Mark Ebenhoch was working as a military advisor on the set of the 1995 flick Outbreak, which featured Kevin Spacey and Dustin Hoffman.

With a month left of filming, Ebenhoch said one of Spacey’s assistants approached him.

“They asked flat out to engage in a sexual act. It was enough to stun me. It blew me away,” he told BuzzFeed.

Ebenhoch, now openly gay, said being in the closet was a powerful force keeping him quiet.

“As a military adviser, the last thing you’d want anyone to know is that you were gay,” Ebenhoch said.
